The Most Powerful Mindset for Success | Three (3) Valuable Tips for You

There are psychological traits that all successful people appear to have in common. This concept is called the growth mindset, a term originally coined by Carol Dweck.

People with this form believe that intelligence and skills are innate. Ito ay isang bagay na ipinanganak either born gifted or not; there is no room for change.

And this essay will explore why the growth mindset is the better one and how we can develop it.

Let’s talk about the Growth Mindset.

ALL OF US ARE A MIXTURE OF BOTH THE GROWTH AND FIXED MINDSET.

Ngunit bakit?

Well, based sa research, people with a Growth Mindset are more successful than people with a Fixed Mindset.

For example, natuklasan ng isang pag-aaral na ang mga mag-aaral na may growth mindset ay nagtatrabaho ng 3x more likely to score in the top, while students with a fixed mindset were 4x times more likely to score and the bottom.

They prioritize growing over stagnation.

They look at failures as an assault on who they are as a person.

Ang isang tao na may Growth Mindset ay naniniwala na palaging may pagbabago o transformation; so, they don’t attach their identity to their results.

“Instead, they focus on the process and growing and learning.”

We know that the brain can continue to learn until the day we die. Thanks to neuroscience. It also seems quite intuitive that people must work hard in person and persevere despite obstacles to end up being successful.

They can make truer decisions whereas a person with a fixed mindset lives in the greatest state of delusion.

What do I mean by this?

They suddenly encounter a roadblock and are forced to make a decision.

The one with the fixed mindset sees the long and arduous journey ahead due to the roadblock. The journey is in the way of what matters to her, the result.

At nag decide siyang huminto.

The one with the Growth Mindset sees the long and arduous journey ahead of her and smiles. The journey is the way for her, the journey is what matters.

Taking the role of a student, she accepts the long and arduous path as her teacher.

She’ll allow it to mold her into the person she needs to become to achieve the results she desires. She decides to persist.

The first key to developing your growth mindset is actually very simple.

“Understanding that they exist and that is possible for the brain to change.”

Neuroscience has shown that our brains are not fixed, and in fact, there are very valuable. We can always grow and learn new skills.

The 2nd key is to focus on process over results.

Hopefully, they learn to associate themselves and their results with the process.

My solution to this is, to make a journal.

* Review my notes once a day.

* Do 10 practice problems a day.

*Read the textbooks for 60 minutes a day.

* And meet my professor for 30 minutes a week.

So, my process has been solidified and everything has been quantified. Now I need to designate the results that I am looking for. I needed to target math.

Sabihin natin na I am looking for a grade of 80% or higher sa exam.

When I get my exam mark back, I compare it, to my goal.

If it’s higher than I know my system works, but I can still go back and alter parts of it to see if I can do even better. Or, I can try and optimize it.

Ngunit, kung ang result ay mababa, I definitely go back and refine my process.

I believe this method of keeping a journal, creating a process, and refining it until the desired outcome is achieved will help promote a growth mindset.  It keeps our minds focused on a changeable process.

Ang proseso ay palaging mahalaga, it’s not that it doesn’t work, it just doesn’t work yet.

Read books about people you admire, try to find details about their processes that you can incorporate into your own.

Lastly, do challenging things.

“To even have a chance of fostering the growth of mindset, you have to step outside of your comfort zone.”

Halimbawa, a student who is never challenged in school begins to believe that they are really smart.

“I get A’s” therefore they are smart, they might say.

“The result comes so easily to them that they don’t even think about the process. “

Unfortunately, ang nakikita lang nila ay ang results and they get attached to that.

Kaya kapag hindi maiwasan na makakuha sila ng mababang marka, o maka encounter ng failures sa reyalidad na buhay, they will think that they are dumb. They lose faith in themselves because they didn’t get the result they use to receive so easily.

On the other hand, going outside of your comfort zone forces you to adopt a growth mindset to avoid shattering under the weight of adversity.

Kaya, ngayon alam mo na ang tungkol sa Growth Mindset, kung bakit ito mahalaga, at ilang mga ideya kung paano ito paunlarin, tandaan na nangangailangan ng maraming pagsisikap upang mabuo ito and that it’ll always be a battle to avoid falling into the fixed mindset.

“People will see certain things or will happen that trigger a fixed mindset in us. It’s important to notice when this is happening and try to avoid getting fixed in place.”

“The path to the growth mindset is a lifelong journey, not a proclamation”
