May mga fresh graduates pati na rin salaried professionals. Why? Because there is no limit in how much they can earn.
Kapag nag-wowork ka for a company as a regular employee, yes, there is security because whatever happens, may sweldo ko every 15th and 30th of the month. But your income is limited to your salary.
Kung ikaw naman ay freelance artist, you can earn as much project as you can handle. And the kinds of work are widely varied. It can be as simple as editing a photo to as complex as logo creation and animation.
Kaya kahit ano pa ang level of expertise mo, pwedeng-pwede ka dito. There are many jobs available for freelance graphic artists.
What do I need to prepare?
CPU – Intel or AMD processor with 64-bit support; 2GHz or faster processor
Memory – 2GB RAM or more (recommendation is 8Gb or more to avoid lagging and freezing)
2. Toolkit – Dapat complete and updated ang mga programs na kailan mo based on the your usage and requirement. These are 3 basic programs for graphic designing that you can choose and learn from: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Indesign.
3. Community – It is always a good idea to join in an online community. You can learn a lot of things from other artists especially the tenured ones. This is also a good venue to put yourself out there and get clients.
4. Portfolio – Ito ang isa sa mga pinaka-importanteng kailangang meron ka. A good and enticing portfolio. This is most often the basis of getting projects, dahil dito makikita ng prospective clients ang capability mo.
How much do I get paid?
There are projects that can give you a P100,000.00 income or even more. But for basic photo retouching, you can charge from P500.00 to P5,000.00 per photo depending on the complexity.
If you can draw, sketch and know how to design logos, you can earn P5,000.00 to P20,000.00 depending on the elements involved in the logo.
For long-term projects like layout of newsletters, magazines, etc., you can earn 5 digits to six digits.
Maganda naman din talaga ang kita sa pagiging freelance graphic artist. The key to earning more here is how fast you can finish a quality project. Take note on the words “fast” and “quality”.
